Title: The Key Points About Wind Power Electricity

Author: Bruce Partridge

Article:
In modern society electricity is a vital every day need. We use
it for lighting, heating, cooling, and for powering all sorts of
devices utilizing electric motors. Most of us have come to
accept that electricity will be available to us any time we need
it. Few of us realize the process of producing and the
liberating electricity to our homes and businesses can be a very
expensive and very dirty undertaking.

There are several major disadvantages involved in the process of
producing this electricity. The majority of the disadvantages
come from the extraordinarily massive amounts of pollution that
is caused by the burning of fossil fuels. Fossil fuels have to
be burned prior to the production of electricity.

The reason for this is the only way to practically produce
electricity is to use a generator. Fossil fuels, coal, natural
gas, and oil, cannot be directly used to power a generator.
Instead, all these fossil fuels must be burned in a furnace to
produce enough heat to turn water into steam. Is this steam that
is used to drive the generator.

The process of burning the coal, the oil, and the natural gas,
produces chemicals and particles. All of these chemicals and
particles are pollutants and are generally released up to be
smokestack from the burner. Although most smokestacks have some
sort of scrubber technology, much of this pollutant is still
released into the atmosphere.

* Wind power electricity has several major advantages:

* Wind directly drives the generator

* Wind itself is free.

* Wind is readily available in a large variety of geographical
locations.

* Wind is smokeless.

* Wendy is odorless.

* Wind is environmentally friendly.

About the only major disadvantage to win power electricity is
the need to place the required windmills in specific locations.
These locations must be aware of the wind is relatively steady
and available nearly all time. Some ideal locations include
coastal areas, ridgelines, and valleys.

In summary, wind power electricity is one of the most "green"
sources of the power we need every day.
